Information from the county Planning and Community Development office shows that more housing building permits and certificates of occupancy were issued last year than ever before in Wakulla County.
Last year there were 549 building permits issued. In 2022, there were 470. In 2021, 507 building permits. In 2020, there were 482 permits. In 2019, 330 were issued. In both 2017 and ‘18, there were fewer than 300 permits issued annually.
Last year there were 469 COs issued, a slight increase from 2022 when 466 were issued. In 2021 there were 460 COs issued. In 2020, there were 415. In the years prior, there were fewer than 300 per year.
