The Wakulla Sun was recently notified that it is a finalist for five awards from the Florida Press Association for weekly newspapers.
The awards are for in-depth reporting, breaking news story, education news coverage and front-page makeup. The other award is for reader-generated photo submitted by Neil Hostnick, who sends occasional nature photos to the Sun.
This is the first year that the Sun was able to apply for the awards.
The awards will be presented at the Florida Press Association’s annual convention in July, to be held in Orlando.
