FRIDAY, JAN. 10
- Deputy Cordoba responded to a residence on Bostic Pelt Road in reference to a theft of lumber. Complainant reported between Jan. 8 and Jan. 9, several unknown subjects pulled into his residence at approximately 3 a.m. and stole several miscellaneous used lumber from his backyard, which he estimated was valued at $400.
- Deputy Saba took a theft report on Susquehanna Trail. Complainant reported the theft of two 16-foot walk boards from a construction site on Susquehanna Trail, both walk boards were valued at approximately $800. Case was forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Division.
- Deputy Sullivan conducted a traffic stop on Methodist Lane and Woodville Highway due to the registered owner not having a valid license. Deputy Sullivan made contact with the driver, Dane Depottey, and confirmed his license was suspended. Depottey was placed under arrest and transported to the Wakulla County Detention Facility.
SATURDAY, JAN. 11
- Wakulla County Communications received a request from Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to assist in locating overdue boaters from Georgia. Deputies checked all boat ramps in the county for the boater’s vehicle. FWC was able to locate the boaters in Taylor County unharmed.
SUNDAY, JAN. 12
- Deputy Surrette conducted a traffic stop on a subject operating a bicycle on the wrong side of the road on Ivan Church Road. During the stop contact was made with the operator, Edwin Tigar Miles, who turned over a small amount of marijuana. Miles then attempted to flee, but was quickly apprehended. Miles was charged with Possessing Marijuana with intent to distribute, Possession of Marijuana over 20 grams, Resisting Officer without Violence, and Possession of Paraphernalia. Edwin Miles was transported to the Wakulla County Detention Facility.
MONDAY, JAN. 13
- Deputies responded east of the weigh station on Coastal Highway for a dump truck flipped over expelling the load of rocks they were hauling as well as fuel and oil on the ground. Multiple deputies and Wakulla County Fire Rescue responded. When deputies arrived on scene, they observed a WalMart distributer truck had attempted to avoid the flipped dump truck and had gotten stuck in the mud near the road. Coastal Highway off Newport all the way through State Road 59 was completely shut down.
- Deputy Post responded to a residence Bald Point Road where he made contact with a resident who reported he rents out a property located on Bald Point Road and recently tried renting it out through a broker, and the broker withheld $4,000 from him.
- Deputy Williams responded to the Sheriff’s Office lobby and spoke with a citizen who reported on Jan. 8 he received a call from his bank, Comerica Bank, in regards to suspicious activity on his account. The citizen reported he normally has his Social Security checks deposited to this account, and learned from the Comerica bank representative that someone has been skimming $10 withdrawals over a long period of time. He further advised his account should have $690 in the account, but it has been drained to $28. Investigation continuing.
TUESDAY, JAN. 14
- Deputy Marshall responded to the Sheriff’s Office lobby in reference to a possible fraud report. Complainant reported she was instructed by “a lady who stated she worked for her bank” to pull $4,000 cash out of her account and to drop it off at different banks drop box.
WEDNESDAY, JAN. 15
- Complainant on Ace High Stables Road reported damage to her vehicle to Deputy Rivers. deputy Rivers determined candy had been placed in her gas tank. Two suspects have been identified. Investigation continuing.
THURSDAY, JAN. 16
- Deputies Godwin and Kreitlow responded to a residence on Coastal Highway in reference to a stolen golf cart. The resident reported he had left his Lyman golf cart on Sunday, Jan. 12 and upon returning on Wednesday, Jan. 15, the golf cart was no longer on his property. Case has been forwarded to the criminal Investigations Division.
- Deputy Saba and Deputy Gray responded to a residence on Quarry Road in reference to several miscellaneous hunting items stolen from a hunting property. Complainant reported on Jan. 12 he had left his gear on his hunting property, and upon his return this date, all his hunting gear, including his trail cam, was missing. Case has been forwarded to the criminal Investigations Division.
- Deputy Sullivan took a theft report on Bloxham Cutoff and Crawfordville Highway. Complainant reported losing his wallet, and now noticing several unauthorized charges on his bank account. The charges were made in Crawfordville at serval different locations. Case has been forwarded to the criminal Investigations Division.
