The Wakulla War Eagles went down in defeat in the second round of the playoffs in Jacksonville Friday night to a very good Raines Vikings team.

It got ugly quick as Raines built a 63-0 lead at halftime. With a a running clock in the second half, Wakulla scored late in the 4th quarter as Amonta Harris nabbed a Vikings fumble and took it 95-yards for a score. As the clock ran out, the final was 63-7.
Raines never really mounted a drive in the first half, instead having explosive play after explosive play – they would touch the ball and score.
Wakulla struggled on offense as well, and while they had a good play here and there, they couldn’t find a rhythm.
“That team was just a very good football team,”Head Coach Scott Klees said. “They deserve to be where they’re at.”
Klees also noted that you can’t let one game define the season. “We got 8 wins, a playoff win, and made it to the second round of the playoffs,” Klees said. “I can’t say how proud I am of these guys.”
Klees added that the team bought-in and overcame obstacles in their season.
Meanwhile, Raines moves on to the regional final. The Vikings will play Bishop Kenny on Friday night after they beat Godby 36-26.
The winner goes to the Final Four to face regional winners from Tampa, Miami and Orlando areas.
