The Sopchoppy Homemakers Club celebrated its 50th year with a special event held in the Fellowship Hall of the United Methodist Church on Thursday, Sept. 11th. The Sopchoppy City Council and several local businesses were in attendance at the celebration.

Janice Pelt Brown is celebrating her 90th birthday on Sept. 21st at Wildwood Seineyard from 3 to 4:30 p.m.
Janice was born Sept. 12th, 1935, and raised in Crawfordville. She has lived here most of her 90 years. She also lived other places around the globe, such as Tripoli, Libya, due to her now-late husband, Lonnie Brown being in the U.S. Air Force and traveling extensively during his time in Korea and Vietnam.

Detectives of the Criminal Investigations Division at the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office arrested Shayne Dalton Sheffield, 31, for second degree murder.
On Sunday, August 17, at approximately 10:49 a.m., the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a shooting incident at a residence in Wakulla County.

On Friday, August 15, members of the Criminal Investigations Division and the Quick Reactionary Force of the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office arrested Helen Litchfield, 71 years of age, for three counts of kidnapping, three counts of aggravated assault, and one count of armed burglary.
