Middle school students honored for response

This is the fifth year of the fishing tournament created to honor the late Gage Pitman

Wakulla Middle School students Aaliyah Williams, Kira Simmons, and Mya Warning received certificates of excellence from the WCSO for their quick response when another student had a medical emergency.

If Marine Corps veteran Bob Crowson of Sopchoppy comes to see you, heโ€™s going to bring you something: a mess of fish he caught in the rivers of Wakulla County, a sack of potatoes from his garden, or just a big, warm hug and a โ€œhow ya doingโ€ greeting.
When the 19-year-old Crowson joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1967, he took that same giving spirit he learned here among the rivers and woods of Wakulla County with him to Vietnam where he risked his life time after time protecting others while in combat.

Class of โ€˜75 reunion

The Wakulla High School Class of 1975 will gather for supper at the Seineyard at Wildwood on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 6 p.m. to celebrate the 50th anniversary of our graduation.

โ€˜Tateโ€™ premiere set

The movie, set in Tateโ€™s Hell, was shot in Wakulla, benefits historical society

The first fictional film on the legend of Tateโ€™s Hell, a dangerous cypress swamp located in the Carrabelle and Apalachicola areas, is scheduled to premiere this weekend, according to two local filmmakers.
The short 32-minute movie was filmed on locations in Wakulla County by Stacy Brown of Crawfordville and Joey Badia of Tallahassee. It features three local actors, Travis Herndon, Jessica Parker and Herb Donaldson, all of Crawfordville.
