The 20-year-old daughter of Fred and Angie Nichols was issued a citation for misdemeanor charge of possession of alcohol by a person under 21 after she was seen with liquor at a local fundraiser.

Paul Sheddan, former mayor of the City of St. Marks, filed a defamation lawsuit last week against city officials, claiming they made false claims against him that led to him being removed as mayor in November of last year.

A story in last week’s issue, “4-H Speech Contest held in Wakulla” misidentified the youth in the accompanying photo, it was Daniel Class, not Jace Perez.
Additionally, the story should have noted that the cash prizes for winners were memorial scholarships in honor of Aimee Sachs.

Eagle Scout honored

County Park Director Cody Solburg presented Eagle Scout Ryan Ladwig with a commendation for his project constructing pathways at Shell Point Beach for people with monility issues, such as wheelchairs, that allow them to access the beach with ease.
