A Gadsden-based company, CDS Manufacturing, has filed a lawsuit against former St. Marks City Commissioner Richard Chichetti claiming he and his wife went to the companyโs Gretna facility and took photos โ and then warned city officials of possible problems if the city went through with selling the old Seminole Refinery site to CDS.

Breaking: Winn-Dixie Crawfordville deceased person in car.

Wakulla County Sheriffโs deputies were at the Winn-Dixie parking lot on Wednesday around 4 p.m. investigating a death.
According to the sheriffโs office, there was a report of a possibly deceased person in a car in the grocery store parking lot.
โDeputies have confirmed the individual is deceased,โ the sheriffโs office reported. โNothing at this point to indicate any sort of crime or public interest other than it occurred in the parking lot.โ
Because itโs an active investigation, the sheriffโs office could not comment further.

Qualifying for candidates ended Friday setting up a number of contests; several candidates draw no opposition



Clerk of Courts Greg James, Tax Collector Lisa Craze and Supervisor or Elections Joe Morgan are all returning to office without opposition.

Candidate qualifying ended last Friday at noon, and for the first time in several election cycles there were no last-minute candidates jumping into local races.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed the state budget last week that included several Wakulla projects โ including $3.7 million to purchase the more than 200 acres where a controversial gas station had been proposed on a parcel that has an underground cave system linking Chipโs Hole to Wakulla Springs.
