A story in last weekโ€™s issue, โ€œ4-H Speech Contest held in Wakullaโ€ misidentified the youth in the accompanying photo, it was Daniel Class, not Jace Perez.
Additionally, the story should have noted that the cash prizes for winners were memorial scholarships in honor of Aimee Sachs.

Eagle Scout honored

County Park Director Cody Solburg presented Eagle Scout Ryan Ladwig with a commendation for his project constructing pathways at Shell Point Beach for people with monility issues, such as wheelchairs, that allow them to access the beach with ease. David Harvey honored with naming

The former sheriff has building at sheriffโ€™s self-insurance fund named for him

The retired Wakulla sheriff, David Harvey, with wife Rhonda at the ceremony on Monday.

Back in 1978, a Letter to the Editor in the Wakulla newspaper complained about an inmateโ€™s treatment at the Wakulla County Jail under then-Sheriff David Harvey, who was a year into his first term and only 26.

Wawa approved

Planning commission give OK to gas station under conditional use rules

The planning commission voted last week to approve a conditional use for a Wawa convenience store and gas station to be located on Crawfordville Highway on a parcel between the old and new Whiddon Lake Road.
