Wakulla County Tax Collector Lisa Craze was honored to receive the Legacy Award for excellence in financial operations from the Florida Tax Collectors Association (FTCA) at their annual Fall Education Forum held this week in Orlando. The award is one of the highest honors a Florida tax collector can receive from the FTCA.

TALLAHASSEE – Last week’s primary-election results were a mixed bag for Gov. Ron DeSantis.
DeSantis’ record in backing school board candidates was below .500. But he had success with legislative endorsements, particularly in a Northeast Florida Senate race where Rep. Tom Leek, R-Ormond Beach, easily defeated two opponents, including one endorsed by former President Donald Trump.

Monday, Aug. 12, started another school year, and students at Shadeville Elementary School were back in class. Superintendent of Schools Bobby Pearce said of the first day: “It was a good day.
