Homecoming royalty crowned

Friday night was Homecoming for Wakulla High School, and Sam Donaway was crowned King and Katie Beth Jones was crowned Queen during the halftime festivities as the War Eagles took on the visiting South Walton Seahawks. The War Eagles won the game, 37-7. See story on Page 14. (Photo by Ken Fields)

Library’s annual Story Walk is Saturday

The Wakulla County Public Library’s annual Story Walk – a trick-or-treat event around Azalea Park – will be held this Saturday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The event draws thousands of people every year, with children dressed in their Halloween costumes getting candy from booths set up around the walking track.

Sopchoppy Opry

The monthly Sopchoppy Opry performance is Saturday night and features Dennis “Moonshine” Rader at the historic Sopchoppy Auditorium beginning st 7 p.m. Tickets are $15. Dinner is available before the show.

Farm Bureau Dinner

Farm Bureau Insurance members filled the Community Center to enjoy a barbecue dinner on Tuesday, Oct. 15. Gene Lambert, local Farm Bureau agent, and his staff Lisa Griner and Katie Sheffield, were joined by Jeb Smith, President of the Florida Farm Bureau Federation.
