Arbor Day distribution of trees

It’s the 21st celebration and drew more than 900 people

The rain held off and the 21st Crawfordville Arbor Day Celebration drew a large crowd to Hudson Park last Saturday. More than 900 people attended and signed in to each get a free tree. For more than half, it was their first time.

Woman charged with hit & run

She struck a 9-year-old boy on a minibike; he was hospitalized in critical condition, mother reports slow improvement

Alfreda Leshon Nelson, 44, was arrested on Thursday, Jan. 9, and charged with leaving the scene of a serious bodily injury.
Nelson is charged in the hit-and-run of a 9-year-old boy riding a minibike in his neighborhood. He was hospitalized with critical injuries, including a brain bleed.
