As part of the negotations for an extended contract with Waste Pro for garbage service to county residents, the curbside recycling program will end this week.
Waste Pro reported that fewer than 20% of county residents took advantage of the service.

The family of Wakulla County resident Jared Causseaux is hosting a memorial race in remembrance of his life and legacy. The 2nd Annual Live Like Jared Memorial 5K & Fun Run will be held at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4, at a relative’s farm, 161 Centerline Rd., in Crawfordville.

Led by Dr. Chrisopher Werner, who is an experienced explorer, researcher, and filmmaker who chronicles scientific research in insightful documentaries.

The Wakulla War Eagles got themselves where they want to be: a winning record and a win over district rival Suwannee.
The War Eagles are 3-2 and 1-0 in the district with Friday night’s 30-23 win over the Bulldogs.

The quarterly Joy-ful Journeys events for special needs kids was held a couple of weeks ago – Saturday, Sept. 20 – at the Wakulla Springs Lodge, and was an opportunity to have fun.
