
Weekly Roundup: Filling up the bench?

TALLAHASSEE – Florida senators returned to the Capitol this week to receive overviews as they prepare for the 2025 legislative session.
A big part of their job during the session will be to craft a budget for the fiscal year that will start July 1. And the Florida Supreme Court added to the budget puzzle this week when it called for creating 50 new judgeships across the state.

The Rotary Club of Wakulla, joined by Cone Distributing and local Realtors, took part in a bed build on Saturday, Dec. 7 at the sheriff’s maintence yard to build 25 bunk beds for kids who don’t have beds.

There were two wrecks involving school vehicles on Wednesday, Dec. 4: a school bus pulling into the high school was hit by a box truck on Highway 98, and a pickup truck backed into a school van loading students on Redman Road.
