Northwest Florida First Responders awarded nearly $85,000 for critical lifesaving equipment

Wakulla Fire Rescue personnel with new bunker gear presented by Firehouse Subs at an event on Friday, Nov. 6 in Tallahassee.

As first responders continue to serve the northwest Florida area, it’s important that they remain properly equipped to handle all emergencies. Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation recognized their need for new lifesaving equipment and recently awarded almost $85,000 in grant funding to Wakulla County Fire Rescue and City of Gretna Fire Rescue.

The Wakulla Senior Citizens Center held a Arts & Crafts Fair on Saturday, which was well-attended.

War Eagles face Crusaders in first round of playoffs

The Wakulla War Eagles head into the playoffs as the No. 6 seed and will travel to Jacksonville on Friday to take on the No. 3 seed Bishop Kenny Crusaders.
Wakulla finished the season as district champs with a 6-4 overall record, and 3-0 in the district.
