Carjacking suspect arrested in Wakulla

On Jan. 31, 2026, at approximately 1:18 a.m., the Wakulla County Sheriffโ€™s Office received a request for mutual aid from the Tallahassee Police Department regarding a carjacking that had just occurred involving a gray 2014 Acura SUV. The vehicle was reported traveling southbound on Wakulla Springs Highway entering Wakulla County.
On Feb. 1, 2026, Wakulla County Sheriffโ€™s Office Deputies located and arrested Christopher Kentrell Roberts, 39, on an out-of-county warrant related to a carjacking investigation being conducted by TPD. Roberts was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Wakulla County Jail.

Civil trials start with jury selection. Potential jurors are summoned and questioned by the lawyers and the judge to ensure they can be fair and impartial. Both sides want jurors who will listen to their arguments without bias. Once the jury is selected and sworn, the trial begins.

On February 14th, the FHSAA Girls District 1 Championship was held in Niceville, Florida. Four Lady War Eagles weighed in on Saturday hoping to place in the top four of their respective weight classes and advance to Regionals.

Serenity Holcomb โ€“ 5th grader at Crawfordville Elementary

Achievements/Reason for Nomination: Serenity is a 5th grade student here at Crawfordville Elementary School. While she has not been with us long, she has already made quite the impression. Currently she is leading the school with 3,401,710 words read! She has worked incredibly hard and earned all Aโ€™s throughout the entire school year. Serenityโ€™s teachers say that she is an outstanding 5th-grade student who always goes above and beyond in everything she does. Serenity is kind and respectful to others. She consistently gives her best effort and leads by example. Her dedication is clear in her incredible achievement of reading over 3 million words, showing both her strong work ethic and love of learning.

Andrew Nelson signs with Missouri S&T

Wakulla War Eagle strong safety Andrew Nelson signed a scholarship on National Signing Day, Wednesday, Feb. 4, with the Missouri S&T Miners, a Division II team in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Head Coach Scott Klees praised Nelson and the support of his family. Nelson said he chose Missouri S&T because he will get a great education at school and play for a great football team. He is the 106th player from Wakulla under Coach Klees to get a football scholarship.
