Changes to school zone at Medart Elementary
Staff Report
Just in time for the start of the new school year, there’s been an adjustment to the school zone at Medart Elementary.
The school, located on Highway 98 just beyond the triangle where U.S. Highway 319 forks off towards Sopchoppy, has long had school zone flashers that tend to surprise unsuspecting drivers on the road, where the speed limit is 55 mph, and suddenly they come upon the flashing school zone lights and a drop in speed limit to 20 mph.

- The columns for the Church Page were not updated, and last week’s columns ran instead.
We regret the errors.
Correction
Because of an oversight when compiling last week’s story on Wakulla Lady War Eagle softball players named to the All-Big Bend team, sophomore Parker Stubbs was inadvertently left out of the story.
Along with Cylie Long, named Softball Player of the Year, and Charley Butler, named Softball Pitcher of the Year, Stubbs was named to the All-Big Bend First Team.
A sophomore, Stubbs was an infielder for the Lady War Eagles who played 24 games, had a .342 average, with 26 hits in 76 at-bats, with one home run and 18 RBIs.
