The new career academy building is ahead of schedule and under budget

Work on the War Eagle Career Academy being built behind Wakulla High School and funded with $20 million from Triumph Gulf Coast.

The new Career and Technical Education (CTE) building at Wakulla High School is nearing completion, and is expected to be ready for the start of school in August. Beginning to end, the entire facility took just one year to complete, which is faster than expected.

Gym door allegedly slammed on 4-year-old’s hand, leading to partial amputation of left ring finger

The mother of a 4-year-old student at the Wakulla Education Center recently filed a lawsuit against Wakulla County Schools claiming her child had a gym door slam shut on his hand causing a fracture of the left ring finger later leading to partial amputation.

Narcan giveaway

The Wakulla County Health Department was out on Thursday, June 6, in front of TCC Wakulla for a drive-thru giveaway of Narcan, the antidote for opioid overdose. Staff members who set up to distribute the Narcan and other swag included Wakulla Director of Operations Donna Clark, Torie Crum, and Administrator for Wakulla and Taylor counties Tonya Hobby.
