Firehouse Subs donates to Wakulla Fire Rescue

Northwest Florida First Responders awarded nearly $85,000 for critical lifesaving equipment

As first responders continue to serve the northwest Florida area, it’s important that they remain properly equipped to handle all emergencies. Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation recognized their need for new lifesaving equipment and recently awarded almost $85,000 in grant funding to Wakulla County Fire Rescue and City of Gretna Fire Rescue.

Land transfer opposed

Sierra Club against exchange of forest service land for horseman’s facility

The Sierra Club expressed its opposition to a land transfer between Wakulla County and the Apalachicola National Forest.
What had been proposed by the county commission more than a decade ago was a trade of a 200-acre parcel of forest land off Ivan Church Road for the 163-acre parcel owned by the county currently used as an equestrian center.
