Receives Moment of Impact Award for efforts in foster care

Foster care is a temporary living situation for kids whose parents cannot take care of them and whose need for care has come to the attention of child welfare agency staff. While in foster care, children may live in foster families or in group facilities.

The family of a Sopchoppy man, Tommie Webster, claim that Wakulla Fire Rescue paramedics refused to treat him after a 911 call to his home on Monday, Oct. 27 around 10:30 p.m.

The Wakulla Shrine Club hosted its annual turkey shoot of the holiday season on Saturday, Nov. 1.
The event was held at the Shrine Club building, 4141 Crawfordville Hwy. Proceeds from the event support the Shriners Hospitals for Children, which focus on orthopedic conditions, burns, cleft lip/palate, and spinal cord injuries. The organization provides care to children at no cost to families.

Wakulla ends the regular season with a 6-4 record going into a bye week before the playoffs start the following week

The Wakulla War Eagles fell to 6-4 on the year after falling to the Gadsden Jaguars 28-20 on a chilly night in Havana.
The War Eagles were up 13-12 at the end of the third quarter, but the Jaguars burned up half the fourth quarter on a long scoring drive that culminated in a touchdown and 2-point conversion to go up 20-13.

Wakulla County’s youth leaders took center stage at the inaugural Future Leaders of Wakulla Teen Leadership Summit, hosted by Wakulla 4-H at the Extension Office in Crawfordville on Oct. 13.

What an incredible season for the Riversprings Middle School Lady Bears volleyball team! This year has been full of excitement, determination, and teamwork. The season kicked off with an impressive performance at a tournament hosted by FAMU, where Riversprings finished 2nd in their division.
