There were two crashes last Tuesday, Oct. 7, hours apart,that resulted in critical injuries to people.
The first crash was around 1:25 p.m. near Hudson Park on U.S. Highway 319 when a pedestrian walking along the highway reportedly stepped out in front of a box truck and was hit.
It’s been 11 years since Jody Kilgore’s body was found stabbed to death in his driveway – Oct. 6, 2014. There still has been no arrest in his murder.

In an effort to make meetings more accessible to the public, county commissioners voted 4-1 to change the time of their regular meetings to 6 p.m.
The change will take effect at the commission meeting on Nov. 3.

Two attorneys have asked that Wakulla Circuit Judge Layne Smith recuse himself from all their cases after the judge became frustrated in a civil hearing and made some intemperate remarks.
Attorneys David Kemp of Crawfordville and Stephen Webster of Tallahassee filed a motion for Judge Smith to recuse himself from the civil case, claiming his courtroom comments back on Sept. 23 showed bias towards them.
The civil cases deal with a series of probate cases with Lowell Raker Jr., represented by Kemp and Webster, suing Linda Vause, a countersuit by Vause against Raker, and the estate of Janie Glover Raker.

County commissioners heard a presentation from consultants at Kimley-Horn and debated impact fees, ultimately voting 5-0 to accept the report presented but not to move forward with the second step for a rate study.
