Busy Saturday ahead

You have your pick of activites for Saturday, beginning with the Coastal Cleanup at Woolley Park in Panacea which starts at 8 a.m
Unity in the Community holds its annual luncheon at the Community Center beginning at noon to honor those contributing to Wakulla.
The Festival of Joy is at Wakulla Springs Lodge from 1 to 4 p.m., celebrating special needs kids with a party.
And the Rotary Club of Wakulla’s Boots & Bingo will be held at 3Y Ranch beginning at 6 p.m. The event is Rotary’s big fundraiser of the year for the club’s community projects.

Woman pleads guilty to federal drug, gun charges

TALLAHASSEE – Lisa Marie Ezell, 39, of Crawfordville, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense. The plea was announced by John P. Heekin, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.

FWC arrests Sopchoppy man after pursuit

On the morning of Monday, Sept. 8, following a vehicle and foot pursuit, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Officer Will Raker apprehended William Ross Frank of Sopchoppy in the Apalachicola National Forest.
Frank was on his motorcycle when stopped by Officer Raker. Frank abandoned his motorcycle and ran into the forest on foot.

The Sopchoppy Homemakers Club celebrated its 50th year with a special event held in the Fellowship Hall of the United Methodist Church on Thursday, Sept. 11th. The Sopchoppy City Council and several local businesses were in attendance at the celebration.
