Unsell competes for Miss Florida

Tia Unsell, 26, of Crawfordville, will be competing June 25-28th at the 89th Miss Florida Scholarship Competition in Lakeland.
Currently, Unsell holds the title of Miss St. Augustine. Unsell won the title of Miss St. Augustine December 14th at Atlantic Coast High School in Jacksonville, where there were seven young women in her division.

An account in Miami allegedly scammed local woman of $6,000 – but court finds the cryptocurrency can’t be seized because it was never in Wakulla

Wakulla Circuit Judge Layne Smith dismissed a case last week in which the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office had seized and was seeking to have forfeited a cryptocurrency account that had received money from a financial scam of a Wakulla woman as the judge found the account was in Miami, and the account had never been located in Wakulla.

Post office seeks blue ribbon on homes with dogs

The Postal Service celebrates National Dog Bite Awareness during the month of June every year. Our district safety coordinator has asked each associate office to get creative and find a way to get the entire office, and their customers, involved in becoming aware of the dangers of dog bites.

Salute to Veterans offers services on Friday, Saturday

The second annual Salute to Veterans will be held at the Wakulla Community Center on Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The event, hosted by the VFW and Auxiliary Post 4538 is open to all veterans and their families and offers access to medical, dental and eye care, as well as veteran services, counseling and financial services.
