
Crawfordville Elementary is at capacity

The Wakulla County School Board heard a report that Crawfordville Elementary School is now over capacity for students.
Principal Alena Crawford told school board members on Monday, Sept. 15, that her student count was at 704 that day. The school capacity is 699.
War Eagles wallop FAMU,48-6

After dropping two games in a row, the Wakulla War Eagles evened their record to 2-2 with a thumping of the FAMU DRS Rattlers on Friday.
It was a “get right” game, with Wakulla going up 48-6 by halftime.

Sopchoppy Depot Days is held

9/11 Remembered

The Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office held its annual memorial service to honor those who died in the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11th. There was a large crowd on hand for the service, held at the sheriff’s office. Photos, clockwise from right, Lt. Michael Alexander salutes the flag after lowering it to half staff.

The Wakulla County School Board approved the district’s budget and millage for 2025-26 at a special meeting on Monday, Sept. 8.
There were no citizens in attendance at the final public hearing.
Sopchoppy budget approved

The Sopchoppy City Commission approved the city and water budgets at its regular meeting on Monday, Sept. 8.
The city also received a clean audit for the past fiscal year by Kevin Warren of James Moore & Company. “The health of the city looks good and there have been no findings.” Warren said.
