A Wakulla County Jail inmate may have smuggled a handgun inside the facility when he was arrested – and had it inside the jail’s general population for more than a month, according to sources close to the matter.

Businessman David McQuary tells Code Enforcement he’s being bullied

David McQuary has made claims of being bullied before.
A couple of years ago, the former owner of Wildwood Golf Course complained that County Administrator David Edwards was not negotiating in good faith for the county to purchase the golf course, which the county wanted to use as a way to get rid of excess treated wastewater.
Laura Lawhon is new chair of school board

School board member Laura Lawhon was selected as chair of the Wakulla County School Board at its re-organization meeting last week. Eddie Hand was selected to serve as vice chair.
The re-org meeting was held prior to the school board’s regular monthly meeting on Monday, Nov. 17.

North Florida Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) held its annual Ernie Stevenson Memorial Inshore Fishing Tournament on Nov. 22 at Shields Marina/Sweet Magnolia Inn in St. Marks.
The event was named after the former FCA Director for North Florida.
