The Wakulla Wonderful event is back! On Saturday, March 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wakulla 4-H invites the Board of County Commissioners, all elected county officials, our business community and all citizens to join Wakulla 4-H at the Wakulla County Courthouse Square on High Road for a celebration of Wakulla’s founding and community history.

From Wakulla Community Theater’s beginnings in 1991 through 2009, then director, Reba Mason, always included a notable person in some sort of cameo.

A front page story last week about student chefs mixed up a couple of judges in the competition: Chef Jorge Sanchez is with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, and Irvin Morales is the manager of San Marco restaurant.
Additionally, a picture of one of the student chefs cooking misidentified the student. The student in the photo was Charlotte Forsythe – a photo of Lily Tirums is below.

Wakulla High School and Riversprings Middle School recently participated in the essay contest sponsored by the Coastal Optimist Club each year. The theme for the contest was “How Optimism Has Paved My Way to Success.”

Talquin Electric Cooperative selected16 high school juniors from Gadsden, Leon, and Wakulla counties to participate in the Talquin Youth Tour to visit the state Capitol and Supreme Court.
