Itโ€™s been amost 40 years since Butch and Myra Jean Nutting opened Myra Jeanโ€™s. It started as a bakery with ice cream and sandwiches back in 1985.
Myra Jean recalled that people encouraged them to offer hamburgers โ€“ and the restaurant side eventually took over.

Pat Jones retires after 50 years with the school district:

โ€˜Blessedโ€™

Pat Jones, center, retired as transportation director for Wakulla County Schools the first of the year. She had worked under six superintendents in her 50-plus year career and gathered with the four surviving superintendents last week: William Payne, David Miller, Bobby Pearce and current Superintendent Rick Myhre.

Civil lawsuit settled inhit-and-run

Back in January, Alfreda Nelson hit a boy on a bike and left him in the road with serious injuries

The family of a boy struck by a hit-and-run driver back in January filed a civil lawsuit in Wakulla Circuit Court seeking unspecified damages and then shortly settled the case for a lump sum.
Alfreda Lashon Nelson, 44, was arrested by law enforcement shortly after the incident and charged with felony hit and run. She was released on $50,000 bond.
