The state Department of Revenue has issued an advisory letter to the Wakulla Property Appraiserโ€™s Office that the 2024 tax roll showed signs of selective reappraisal.
The office also received an advisory letter the year before, for the 2023 tax roll, also citing selective reappraisal.

Superintendent of Schools Rick Myhre gave school board members a heads-up that he will bring a couple of potentially controversial issues at their January meeting: the transfer of obsolete properties, and school rezoning.

Jury recommends death penalty for Hertz by 10-2

After a week of testimony, it took a 12 person jury only an hour to return a recommendation that Guerry Wayne Hertz should face the death penalty for a double murder.
Hertz, along with co-defendants Jason Looney and Jimmy Dempsey, was convicted in 1999 of the murder of Melanie King and Keith Spears that took place back in July 1997 in a home invasion robbery.
