The local 4-H youth put on a Senior Prom at the Wakulla Senior Center on Wednesday, Feb. 14 – the culmination of five months of hard work. The prom’s theme was “Dash into the ‘50s” and featured decorations, food, and even classic cars from the era.

On Thursday, Feb. 1, the Wakulla County Moose Lodge 2510 in Panacea was honored to welcome Sandy and Harry Johnston from Moose International.
Sandy currently serves as a member of the Moose International Board of Directors. Sandy was the first female to be elected to the board in 133 years of existence.

TALLAHASSEE — An effort to restrict what flags can be flown at schools and other public buildings flailed in the Florida Senate this week, after a key committee adjourned before members voted on the proposal.

Last week, first responders were searching an area between Sopchoppy and Smith Creek after the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office received a call from Tyndall Air Force Base that a signal had been picked up indicating a plane had crashed in the area.
