D’Arcy Brazier, 77, of Crawfordville, passed away January 22, 2025 after a short illness.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. D’Arcy moved to Crawfordville in 1974 and opened Down Home Foreign Car Repair. He was a master mechanic dedicated to serving and building lasting relationships with his customers.
He joined the Crawfordville Volunteer Fire Department in 1977. As a member of CVFD, he served as Assistant Chief and then Chief until 2013.
After retiring and closing Down Home Foreign Car Repair, D’Arcy went to work at Shadeville Elementary as the Operation Foreman. His love of children and service to the community kept him there for another nine years before retiring in 2021.
D’Arcy was a United States Navy Veteran and served during the Vietnam War era.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Susan Brazier; three children, Ian Brazier (Kirsten), Erin McGonegle (Dan), and Matthew Brazier (Sara); three grandchildren, Penelope Brazier, Quinn McGonegle, and Jack McGonegle; and three siblings, Gail Norton, Lindy Brazier, and Stuart Brazier (Linda).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Brazier and Jean Brazier.
A celebration of life for D’Arcy will be held Sunday, February 2, 2025 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home, 1737 Riggins Road, Tallahassee FL 32308.
The family requests that Memorial Contributions be made to Florida Wild Mammal Association.
Culley’s Meadowwood Funeral Homes and Cemetery in Tallahassee is in charge of the arrangements.

A front page story last week headlined “Local Realtor found guilty of tax evasion” was not correct. The story, which came from a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, which prosecuted the case, did not specify that Sedita Cayson, the Realtor, was charged with five counts of attempting to evade or defeat tax and five counts of willful failure to file return. Cayson was not found guilty of evading taxes, only of willful failure to file.
While the subheadline explained that “Sedita Cayson failed to file income tax returns between 2017-2021,” the main headline was incorrect.

Wakulla 4-H agent Rachel Pienta announced today that the first 4-H road clean up for 2025 will be held on Saturday, Jan. 4. Interested youth and community members should meet in the Crawfordville Commons parking lot. The group will meet outside Jimmy John’s restaurant at 9 a.m.
