Eastern Star donations

The members of Crawfordville Chapter #242, Order of the Eastern Star collected back to school and clothing items in August. Riversprings Assistant Principal Katherine Spivey accepts donations from OES Worthy Matron Eileen Bramblette, at right. The group says it is a privilege for us to be able to help our community. The excitement of traveling hundreds of miles from home and competing on a national level is a feeling like no other. 4-H member Nina “Libby” Justice experienced firsthand exactly what that feels like and how far hard work and dedication can take you. After winning a blue ribbon on the county level and securing second place while competing at the 4-H State Horse Show in June, Libby qualified to present her Illustrated Talk titled “Horse Coat Genetics: Colors, Patterns & Textures” in Kentucky at the Eastern National 4-H Horse Roundup.

Guerry Wayne Hertz and Jason Looney, convicted of a double murder of a Crawfordville couple after a home invasion in 1997 and sentenced to death in 1999, will face resentencing in the coming week.

The Tallahassee Alumnae Chapter (TAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. proudly partnered with the Buckhorn Masonic Lodge #354 for their annual Thanksgiving Turkey Give-Away on Sunday, Nov. 24th, at the Palaver Tree in Crawfordville.
