The annual celebration of the founding of Wakulla County – Wakulla Wonderful – is Saturday, March 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the courthouse square. There will be vendors, music and food trucks.
At 10 a.m., 4-H youth will read Wakulla Wonderful proclamation. At noon, there will be birthday cake .

An 18-year-old Crawfordville teenager was critically injured in a car crash near the intersection of Shell Point Road and Live Oak Island Road on Wednesday, Feb. 21, around 3 p.m., according to Florida Highway Patrol.

The original builder was Precision Home Builders dba Gene Cutchin Construction.
The Sunbiz listing for the HOA lists Travis Pereze as president and Susan Jones as secretary.

The Wakulla County Christian Coalition is hosting three events for this weekend’s African American Heritage Celebration.
The first event is the Arthur Lee Andrews Scholarship Gala “Celebrating Acheivers in Medicine” at the community center on Friday, followed by a Parade in Hudson Park on Saturday, and a Read-in at Palaver Tree Theater on Sunday. See the calendar in “On the Horizon” for more details.

Last week, first responders were searching an area between Sopchoppy and Smith Creek after the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office received a call from Tyndall Air Force Base that a signal had been picked up indicating a plane had crashed in the area.
