Arbor Day

Members of the garden club were at the county commission meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 16, with examples of the native trees they planned to give away on Saturday – and they gave away 1,500 trees at the 20th annual Arbor Day tree giveaway. They also planted two live oaks at the Medart Rec Park on Friday, one dedicated to Jeanne Brodhead for her accomplishments. Stories on Page 14. (Photo by William Snowden)

The Wakulla native is working in South Florida and was featured in a story on invasive caimans

Staff Report

Wakulla native Libby Sutton was featured in the Science section of the New York Times back in October for her work helping corral invasive caimans in South Florida.
Sutton was a 2016 Wakulla High School grad, and graduated from FSU in 2020.

MLK Day observed

About 50 people were on hand for the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial observance held by the Wakulla County Christian Coalition at the courthouse monument on Monday, Jan. 15. Gwendolyn Staten, above, acted as master of ceremonies for the event.
