Breaking: Winn-Dixie Crawfordville deceased person in car.

Wakulla County Sheriffโ€™s deputies were at the Winn-Dixie parking lot on Wednesday around 4 p.m. investigating a death.

According to the sheriffโ€™s office, there was a report of a possibly deceased person in a car in the grocery store parking lot.

โ€œDeputies have confirmed the individual is deceased,โ€ the sheriffโ€™s office reported. โ€œNothing at this point to indicate any sort of crime or public interest other than it occurred in the parking lot.โ€

Because itโ€™s an active investigation, the sheriffโ€™s office could not comment further.

Legion holds flag ceremony

After fixing the flagpole at Eden Springs a couple weeks ago, the local American Legion held a flag ceremony at the facility on Memorial Day. The flag that was raised had flown at the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C. on May 29, 2017 in honor of veterans at Eden Springs and donated by Family Funeral Home. (Photo By Legion Taylor)

Corrections

A story in last weekโ€™s issue, โ€œ4-H Speech Contest held in Wakullaโ€ misidentified the youth in the accompanying photo, it was Daniel Class, not Jace Perez.
Additionally, the story should have noted that the cash prizes for winners were memorial scholarships in honor of Aimee Sachs.
We regret the errors.
